Key Role:
The position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of all field instruments, VSD, Weigh Feeder, Weigh Bridge, Packer Machine, Barge Loader etc. Maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, repair & upkeep of central control equipment like Distributed control systems, Programmable logic controllers, etc. Responsibility will be to provide technical support to the Junior Engineer, coordinate with Supervisors and other departments to identify, define and solve the problems. Carry out installation and commissioning of new instruments and equipment as per requirement.
Main Responsibilities
Operation:
- Strictly maintain the plant safety rules and regulations. Preparing GWP, JPT, LST and SOP.
- Troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of all field instruments, VSD, Weigh Feeder, Weigh Bridge, Packer Machine, Barge Loader etc.
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, repair & upkeep of central control equipment like Distributed control systems, Programmable logic controllers, etc.
- Provide technical support to the Junior Engineer, coordinate with Supervisors and other departments to identify, define and solve the problems.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of new instruments and equipment as per requirement.
- Day to day maintenance & preventive maintenance of all I&C related activities.
- Assist in spare planning & budget preparation, idea generation and participate in improvement projects.
- Challenge of learning on the job during erection & commissioning phase of the plant (as previous exposure to dry cement process automation is negligible) and use the knowledge gained/experience to ensure trouble free operation of the plant.
- Challenge of working along with less experienced/fresh subordinates and training them

Management:
- To carry out maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting & repair of all instrumentation equipment of plant section assigned which shall include
- Maintenance, calibration, functional check of instruments & equipment as per defined schedules & procedures.
- Maintenance, programming & troubleshooting of DCS, PLC and other control systems.
- Breakdown maintenance & repair/replacement/rectification jobs.
- Laboratory work: Repair, functional check, calibration of instruments.
- To maintain good inter departmental relations and team up with other departmental colleagues for jobs involving joint action & co-ordination.
- To report to department head/ manager on jobs done/problems faced and breakdowns attended.
- To ensure proper upkeep of departmental manuals, documents, log sheets etc.
- To ensure proper use of P.P.E by subordinates & self & abide by safety procedures.
- Responsible for training & guiding subordinates.
- Implement improvement/ modification jobs as per requirement.
- To carry out any additional work assigned by the management.
Educational background / Qualifications:
- Graduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering preferably from any reputed Public University
Work experience required:
- Minimum 5 years in the relevant field in any Process or Heavy Industry.
Required Qualifications and Experiences:
- Can-do attitude, ready to put extra efforts in case of plant emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of process automation used in a Cement Plant or any heavy process industry.
- Knowledge of maintenance, calibration, functional check, repair & troubleshooting of basic field instruments in a process industry – different types of sensors, switches, transmitters, controllers etc. used for measurement & control of flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration etc.
- Knowledge of maintenance, calibration check, repair & trouble shooting techniques for equipment like Gas analyzers, Weighing systems, Variable speed drives, UPS, XRF, Scanners, Pyrometers etc.
- Knowledge of maintenance, programming & troubleshooting techniques for Distributed Control systems & Programmable logic controllers.
- Ability to study & understand drawings & documents.
- Analytical skills & reasoning ability.
