    The Danish Embassy is looking for a Head of Administration and Human Resource. You will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced Administrative Team that handles a wide range of tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the Danish Embassy and contributing to administrative tasks relating to co-location with the Norwegian and Swedish Embassies. You will be responsible for managing the daily running, and will work closely together with the Consul.

    General Position Summary

    • Possess a broad worldview in line with the values of the Danish Embassy/Joint Nordic Embassies and respect the diversity of the staff
    • Work as part of a “Whole-of-Embassy” effort with the aim to strengthen the partnership between Denmark and Bangladesh
    • Be willing to take up assignments beyond one’s own specific responsibilities and work with, liaise with and support colleagues from other teams if need be
    • Work in line with rules on good administrative behaviour and in line with relevant guidelines, especially when handling various information and archiving material
    • Follow the security regulations of the Embassy as well as the regime for Occupational Safety and Health

    Main Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Maintain a timely overview of tasks related to the running of the Danish Embassy/Joint Nordic Embassies
    • Responsible for on- and off-boarding of diplomatic staff
    • Participate in the daily administration of Danish and common Nordic administrative co-location issues such as leases, service contracts, procurements to name a few
    • Participate in the recruitment process of local staff including security clearances
    • Handler of medical claims, life insurances, salaries and pension processes for local staff
    • Responsible for lease agreements including negotiations for renewals
    • Data registration in the HR data base and the Property data base
    • Renewal and extensions of various service contracts
    • Approver of certain running costs
    • Support in connection with high-level visits
    • Assisting with consular cases including contact to local and Danish authorities, and translation

     

    You Must

    • Have several years of professional experience with HR, and office management and administration from similar prior positions
    • Hold a relevant MBA
    • Have strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bangla
    • Be service-minded, creative and flexible and know discretion is a must
    • Be able to work in a structured, results- and detail oriented way with excellent planning and coordination skills
    • Be able to put instructions, guidelines and law into good practise and guide colleagues
    • Have IT proficiency and solid skills within Microsoft Office
    • Have flair for numbers and accounting
    • Know how to develop, streamline and optimize processes
    • Be a team player – who is also able to work independently – with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour

    Employment Conditions

    • You will be offered full time employment. The contract is based on the Staff Rules of the Mission. The position is subject to initially a 3 months’ probation period
    • Your employment is subject to successful security clearance
    • Working hours are 37 hours per week
    • You will be entitled to twenty (20) days of paid holiday per year
    • Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience and proven work-related results
    • As part of your salary, you will be covered by a workplace pension scheme
    • You and your dependant family members will be offered reasonable coverage of sickness expenses
