Computer Science Teacher – Primary, Middle & O Level
Sydney International School (SIS) is seeking qualified, enthusiastic, and experienced Computer Science Teachers to join our academic team. We are hiring teachers for Primary, Middle Section, and O Level.
Position Type: Full-time
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach Computer Science at the Primary, Middle Section, and/or O Level, according to qualifications and teaching experience.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Computer Science lessons.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Present concepts clearly using appropriate teaching methods, resources, and technology.
- Provide individualized support and encourage interactive and collaborative learning.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress.
- Adapt teaching strategies according to students’ learning needs and abilities.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Stay updated with current Computer Science teaching methodologies and educational technology.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and improvement.
- Participate in academic activities, school events, clubs, projects, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
- Relevant teaching experience in Primary, Middle Section, and/or O Level Computer Science.
- Candidates with 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience will be preferred, particularly for O Level.
- Strong knowledge of the relevant Computer Science curriculum and assessment practices.
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum/CIE will be an advantage.
- Teaching certification or relevant professional training will be an advantage.
- Strong classroom management and lesson-planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good proficiency in English.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and a genuine commitment to student learning and development.
