Position: Principal/Vice-Principal
Educational Requirements
- B.Sc. in Engineering from any recognized university. M.Sc. in Engineering will get preference.
Experience
- 12 years relevant teaching & academic administration experience.
Additional Requirements
- Age Maximum 60 years
- 3–4 years of proven leadership experience in polytechnic institute, will be considered a significant advantage.
- Must have strong report writing skills in both English and Bangla.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication.
- Ability to manage diverse stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, parents and industry partners.
Responsibilities & Context
A principal of polytechnic Institute is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the institution, overseeing academic programs, faculty, staff, students and facilities, ensuring high-quality technical education delivery, maintaining industry partnerships and promotion the institute`s reputation within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall oversight, leadership, and communication for the department’s academic programs by developing, implementing, and monitoring the strategic plan and goals for academic program growth.
- Ensuring proper implementation and execution of Diploma curriculum, syllabus, ordinance, rules, and regulations while running both the academic and administrative activities.
- Operating academic activities according to the rules and regulations of BTEB.
- Monitor daily administrative actions and enforce discipline in according to head office service rules.
- Implementing and monitoring the Institutional Strategic Development Plan (ISDP) to ensure academic quality.
- Ensuring full enrollment as per the seat allocation approved by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), through effective admission planning and execution.
- Organizing workshops, seminars, counseling sessions, and meetings to help students develop their values and ethics for future careers.
- Promote a positive student learning environment and address student concerns.
- Foster student engagement through extracurricular activities, clubs and industry exposure.
- With effective discipline, ensure the highest possible percentage of student attendance (not less than 80%) and lower dropout rates.
- Support and cooperate with the head office HR and Admin, Procurement, IT, Promotion, Finance and Accounts, Job Placement departments.
- Implementing the Organogram and Service Rules at all levels of the institution.
- Conducting Gap analysis of the teaching staffs and arranging training sessions according to the analysis, to enhance their performances.
- Initiating Annual Confidential Report (ACR)/Annual Performance Report (APR) of all teaching faculties of the college.
- Reporting to the Head Office time to time.
- Developing academic calendar, action plans, semester plans, and class routines.
- Preparation of development proposal for Diploma Institute.
- Any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
