The Ministry of Finance in Bangladesh is one of the most important ministries in the government, responsible for managing the economic and financial affairs of the country. It plays a key role in formulating and implementing the fiscal policies that support Bangladesh’s development goals, including budget preparation, revenue collection, public expenditure, debt management, and financial sector regulation.

Main Functions of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) in Bangladesh:

1. Formulation of Economic Policies:

   • The Ministry of Finance formulates the government’s fiscal and macroeconomic policies to promote sustainable economic growth, maintain financial stability, and support social and economic development.

2. National Budget Preparation:

   • The Ministry is responsible for preparing the annual national budget, determining allocations for different sectors such as education, health, infrastructure, defense, and welfare programs. It sets the framework for how public funds are spent and collected.

3. Revenue Collection:

4. Financial Institutions Division (FID):

Key Roles of the Ministry:

• Promote Economic Stability: The Ministry works to maintain economic stability by managing inflation, ensuring balanced public spending, and controlling the fiscal deficit.
