Admission Notice for MD/MS Phase-A Residency Program March 2024 Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission into different disciplines of MD/MS Phase-A Residency Program in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and affiliated Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges/Institutes for the academic session to be started on 01 March 2024.
Instructions for Candidates:
Candidates, intend to apply into different disciplines of MD/MS Phase-A, Residency Program, may see the list of disciplines and eligibility criteria in the BSMMU website, www.bsmmu.ac.bd
Application Fee and Method of Payment:
Tk 7000/= (Seven thousand only-non refundable) in favor of “ADMISSION AND MISC. FUND” SND-A/C NO-0947102001731 Pubali Bank Ltd., Shahbag Branch, Dhaka from any Online branch of Pubali Bank Ltd.

Period of Online Application submission:
From 25 September to 30 October 2023. From 26 September to 31 October 2023. (upto 11.50 PM)
Admit Card Print:
Candidates can print Admit Card from 11 to 24 November 2023 (upto 8.30AM) using his/her application number & password.
Submission of Application (through online):
After Payment of application fee, candidate must fill the Application Form available at www.bsmmu.ac.bd within above mentioned deadline.
Candidate has to upload (.jpg format) scanned copy of her/his ‘color photograph’ (image size: 500×500 px, not older than three months & background must be of one color preferably white where face should be very clearly seen), ‘Bank payment receipt’ (image size: 500×500 px) and ‘Signature’ (image size: 300×200 px).
Date & Time of Written Admission Test
Date: 24 November 2023 (Friday), Time: From 9 am to 12 noon.
The Venue & detail seat Plan of Admission Test will be notified later on in BSMMU website: www.bsmmu.ac.bd.
Instructions on Admission Test questions for all candidates (Total 200 questions):
- 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type questions-each question with five True/False options.
- 20 Single Best Answers (SBA) type questions-each question with five options, all of which will be correct/relevant, but one will be most correct/relevant.
Special instructions about payment of remuneration:
- Govt. Residents will not get monthly remuneration from BSMMU.
- BSMMU authority is not responsible to pay monthly remuneration to the private Residents. But with the availability of fund from Ministry of Health and Family welfare, BSMMU and respective Medical Colleges/Institutes will pay monthly remuneration to their own private Residents from the same Institutes after collecting money from Health Ministry.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) is the premier Postgraduate Medical Institution of the country. It bears the heritage to Institute of Postgraduate Medical Research (IPGMR) which was established in December 1965. In the year 1998 the Government converted IPGMR into a Medical University for expanding the facilities for higher medical education and research in the country. It has an enviable reputation for providing high quality postgraduate education in different specialties. The university has strong link with other professional bodies at home and abroad. The university is expanding rapidly and at present, the university has many departments equipped with modern technology for service, teaching and research. Besides education, the university plays the vital role of promoting research activities in various discipline of medicine.
